By default, Microsoft Teams uses the same ringtone for all types of calls. If you are a normal user this wouldn’t matter too much. However, if you are a delegate of an executive or often have calls forwarded to you, it can be hard to differentiate between a direct personal call and a call coming to you that was originally meant for someone else.
Fortunately, Teams allows you to set a different ringtone for the different types of calls you receive. This can help you decide the most appropriate answering protocol to greet the caller with.
To set this up go to Settings, click the ellipsis (…) at the top right of the Teams client and select Settings, and the Calls tab. Scroll down until you find the Ringtones section.
Out of the box, the ringtones for Direct calls, forwarded and delegated calls is set to Default. Change these using the drop down list. You can preview the ringtone by first selecting it and then pressing the play icon.
